You all probably hear many girls talk about how they just-really-love-yoga so much and how they need more-yoga-clothes-to-practice-in and how they-just-love-their-new-pink-yoga-mat. Then there are those who actually love yoga and embody the ideals of a yogi lifestyle. Then you have moi. I really do enjoy yoga. I got into it last semester taking my gym class at FIT. I discovered I really enjoyed taking an hour out of my life to stretch and relax my body and mind. Unlike some others I prefer yoga for relaxation and not a super intense workout. I get lost (in a good way) in the dim lighting, the incense and the practice of moving with your breath.
My friend is currently training to be a yoga teacher and I am so excited! I am sure she will be great and on the plus side she needs some practice! Which means I get extra yoga time. I am not saying every girl who says she likes yoga is a stereo-typical trend follower.
However I do think some people understand the true meaning a little more than others. For me, yoga helps quiet the many noises in my mind. It allows my body to relax and it also helps my digestion! Especially right now with all of my leg problems, yoga and stretching is extremely helpful.
