After winning yet another prize at a school event, I headed to Aritzia, with leggings in mind. Lately it seems I have been winning everything! It is so amazing, and this time it was a 50$ Aritzia Store gift-card. I stopped by their Fifth Avenue location ad was pleasantly surprised.Walking into a fairly open space the entry level floor is very zen and open. Clothes are easy to find and very comfy looking. Warm sweaters and cashmere scarves line the racks and shelves, inviting the cold on looker in to make their winter purchases. Behind the staircase leading down a level there are giant wooden mushrooms adding some Wonderland character to the store. The lower level is still in time with the stores mood. The staff was very helpful and i was able to pick out two very warm sets of leggings, one black and one grey. I will definitely be back soon for some much needed sweaters.
One great aspect of FIT are the endless networking opportunities they give to their students. Wednesday was the annual AMC career expo. There in the great hall were dozens of companies looking to hire and offering internships. The expo held a twitter contest and I won! The prize was a real mink headband. Although the mink is amazing, it was even better to be able to network this early in my career. xoxo
Sometimes, in the most unexpected places, there can be great (and fashionable) opportunities. Today while walking up 6th Avenue with my dad, hunting for volleyball shaped beads, I came across a store front that said "free bags". Well of coarse I had to go check it out! Turns out the brand Kipling was having a little pop up promotion! When you walk in there is a chic little desk. Upon checking in you receive a purple small bag, which you can get monogramed for free in any color. They also have makeup stations set up for little touch ups and the new products are on colorful display. It was a very fun room with the DJ spinning upbeat tracks. A very nice pit stop out of the cold and windy Manhattan weather. Who doesn't love little surprises? xoxo
