Spending the afternoon with my friend Maritza was amazing! It was her birthday weekend so I decided to take her to the MET. On the way we stopped quickly at Laduree. It is my favorite Macaroon store in the world. I have been to it's flagship in Paris and its Madison Avenue location, nothing can ever compare to the deliciousness that is a Laduree Macaroon! After our macaroons we went shopping at a few different places on the upper east side and ended our day after the MET, with making pizza in my dorm.
Serendipity last friday with the girls was so much fun! Giant frozen hot chocolates and playing around in Dylans Candy Bar! What a great Friday night!!
Wednesday night I headed out with some of the honors program girls to see a contemporary Ballet, The Houston Ballet to be exact at Joyce Theatre. The overall production was broken into four parts. The first was a juxtaposition of three pieces all coming together, intertwining into one by the end. The second was a duet of a couple, and the third was three males each giving solos. While they were dancing there was a playful antagonizing of the other male dancers, as to tempt them to beat each other in the form of dance. The final piece was a "play" of sorts. The actors were clad in suits with the girls wearing neon point shoes of all different colors. It was showing the everyday struggles of love, work and in general life. The dancers mixed hip hop and ballet into a production that was utterly amazing. I never thought I would use the word sexy to describe a ballet but this definitely deserves the adjective. After a friend and I headed to a diner for some good food to end our night. It was truly amazing. xoxo
