This evening made me reflect on what really makes me happy. Although I do enjoy a good Macaroon and a well made Cole Haan bag, other things in life never cease to give me satisfaction. For one, flowers. Even one simple flower in my old milk jug vase bring a smile to my lips. Candles, are relaxing and create a wonderful atmosphere. And finally, having innocent pure fun. Today at a friends graduation party, despite the rain, we all played outside four hours. Playing Kan Jam and running around barefoot in the grass and mud. Of coarse I was not barefoot; I had on rubber rain boots and a rain trench coat tied at the waist with a fabric sash.
Leaving this party I realized, there was no alcohol, drugs, or someone getting hurt. It was simply, fun. We reveled in it and the rain wasn't a deterrent but an addition to the excitement. We took a day that could've been made miserable and turned it into a positive fun memory. This is one of my greatest joys in life. Not only overcoming the obstacle but instead using it as a catalyst to your enjoyment.
