There is something so irrevocably unexplainable about comedy. The ability laughter has to heal, and to make an enjoyable situation even better. Tonight I did just that, I laughed. The day started with an early rise and productive class. However what was truly productive, could be explained in a small trip to Brooklyn.
Imagine the subways, screeching and almost floating through these dark tunnels filled with blue lights. All of these people look different, with lives of their own, bustling to their destination. The subway stops, and as you come up into the air you feel a freshness. (And i'm not just talking about the smell) I helped my friend Tommy cook dinner. Well actually he cooked and I helped wash dishes. Stir fry actually, it was quite good. The kitchen was full of college students preparing, cooking and dancing, Sizzles and smells throughout the room, speakers blasting music erratic, yet so enjoyable. We ate and then headed out for a walk to get some dessert. Walking through the streets of Brooklyn Heights at night is quite interesting. As we headed back to the dorm on the tree lined streets, Tommy pointed out his school and a few other spots. Then readiness was made for the real purpose of the night, for me to see The Producers. I laughed and laughed and talked and laughed. It's like a medicine, I swear just what I needed.
As I left, and went back to the underground connectivity of the city, it hit me. I am a college student, an adult. This is the start of my life and i'm absolutely loving every second. Have a wonderful night darlings. xoxo
