Ah, it's fashion week and so although no one has time, I figured I would squeeze a quick blog post in somewhere. Between eating my cliff bar for dinner on the E train, running home to drop off my laptop and do a quick bag change, or walking back up the High Line with four bags of stuff, I somehow found time to type this out.
The Quick Do's & Don'ts of Twitter
Retweets - Please, please. please do not have your page filled with re-tweets. As an advocate for those who are on social media for a good portion of their day, please stop. I want to see your thoughts, and favorite your tweets. Not see a dashboard of retweets. We understand you agree with them, don't overdo it hun.
Personality - Let your personality shine through on twitter. Give your followers something to follow, weather it be fun, witty or serious. People like cohesive, they like to feel as if they sort of know you from your social media.
Air of Mystery - On the note of personality, also try to be a little mysterious. You do not need to update the world on your every errand stop or every second of your whereabouts on a saturday. Leave people wanting more from you. Give them just enough, so they keep coming back, which means you'll get more followers. Yippie!
Quotes - Some are okay. However, it can get to be horrendous way to fast. (What a tongue twister!) Once in awhile a quote is nice, but don't do the daily inspiration hashtag. We've been there, done that, and it hasn't worked. DOn't just fill twitter space with quotes because you have nothing else to say.
Photos - Spice up your dash and add some visuals. People love a good caption. Be funny, or add something with your caption, don't just plainly narrate. Paint a mood for people, show them and make them feel.
Happy Tweeting. xoxo
