At my internship yesterday sifting through articles (I was hard core hoot-suiting) I came across a few talking about what successful women do in the morning. I thought it might be nice to have a similar list coming from a college PR girl ("in-training"). So sitting down with a scone, and an oversized cup of coffee I started to brainstorm. After fighting off the urge to eat more scones and downing more coffee, here is what I have for you lovelies. Am I missing something crucial for a good morning routine? Let me know in the comments!
Set two alarms - I usually set mine 15 to 30 minutes apart. One warns me and wakes me up from deep sleep and the other is the actual time I need to wake up. It's also comforting that there is always a backup. Rushing in the morning is no fun at all. [Insert no fun here]
Breakfast - Eat breakfast. Please do not argue with me, no, stop. Do not tell me you have no time or you can't stomach food in the morning. Then bring breakfast with you, make a smoothie, but you need to eat. Your body needs fuel to start your metabolism and to prepare you for the day ahead. Eat.
Coffee - This is a subsection of breakfast. I need my morning coffee. The smell, the taste, the tranquility of sitting and enjoying a cup as I wakeup. Find out what helps you peacefully prepare for the day and then add it to your routine.
Music - Play music when you get up. It sets the tone for the day and helps bring you out of that coma sleep like state.
Night Before Packing - Pack as much as you can the night before. Lay out clothes, check the weather, Pack your lunch or snacks for the day, get your bag ready and mentally check what you have to do the next day.
