The warm weather in Manhattan ignites a frenzy. People getting their bodies ready for summer, planning vacations and shopping for that perfect summer outfit. It's as if Spring has become a perpetual getting-ready period for summer. Since when did summer become so stressful? What happened to the days of just playing outside in the sprinkler and spur of the moment trips to splashdown. Now every week, weekend and day is accounted for and scheduled. Summer has become a giant map of trips, plans, visits and squeezed in relaxation. Sound oh-so relaxing right? Not so much.
Has Spring really turned into this planning frenzy for an even more scheduled two months of sun, water and parties. Summer has become one expensive venture and I hope it can be toned back down into something light and free. The way summers should be, instead of just a calendar packed with events and schedules. Can we get back to that carefree romantic summer? I think so, and I plan (see what I did there?) to allocate some of my summer to just relaxing, with no plans and no schedules. Maybe i'll even have a spur of the moment adventure.
Happy Tanning. xoxo
