In a world where everything is becoming streamlined are we allowing ourselves to settle for simple at best?
Being the super awesome obsessed with PR girl I am, I constantly am keeping up with social media, news and media trends. Something that isn't necessarily new, but defiantly expanding, is the idea of minimalism. Less is more. Is it though? Yes Apps are looking a lot better with a simplified icon and websites are getting rid of clutter to become more visually appealing.
Yet I can't help but worry this trend will leak into other aspects of life. We now enjoy minimalist conversations. We text when we want and just ignore people if we don't want to. It's a simplified relationship, because there isn't complicated human interaction, yet direct messages typed out onto our iPhones. Will we feel the need to strip down everything in our lives to only the necessity. I think that's a little extreme sure, but definitely food for thought.
Some things are best left simple while others are okay to be crazy and chaotic and cluttered. Let's make sure we keep a variety in our lives.
Happy Minimalism. xoxo
