I love lists. I love notebooks. My room is filled with half filled notebooks, papers and partially crossed of lists. I make these to keep me organized, to keep me calm. In a way they do just that. I get my thoughts out on paper so they can't get lost in the shuffle of my mind. However, I also sometimes go overboard and make lists upon lists and then they get lost within lists and oh now i'm confused.
I like the feeling of crossing of my to-do's in order to feel accomplished. It sets clear goals for my day or week and I feel as though I can manage the tasks ahead. Making lists keeps my anxiety of they week at bay - I just focus on whatever is at hand.
My listing though sometimes can go to far. Like making unrealistic shopping lists, vacation lists, or what-I-plan-on-spending-tip-money-on lists. (This ends up being coffee, subway rides, and laundry.) They also can get too long. Am I really going to write two papers, research a topic, email ten people and start a IMC campaign in one night? Maybe, but highly unlikely i'll get all of that done in a quality manner.
My latest list is my end of the year gift. After paying for a lot of my college education I am planning on rewarding myself after my final freshman year payment is made. I work, intern, and go to school full time. So right now here is my tentative reward list. (NOTE: I only get to choose one)
Kate Spade Bag
Chanel Perfume
Warby Parker Sunglasses
Adult Clothes Shopping (business-wear)
Steve Madden Shoes
Agent Provocateur Set
Loads of Macaroons
Kipling Carry on (for my many travel adventures)
